Jeff, who graduated from Princeton in 1986, walked away from a lucrative New York hedge fund career in 1994 with the simple idea to sell books online. Now Amazon sells nearly everything a consumer might want.

Mackenzie was literally with her husband during the birth of Amazon. She was there for the the converted garage, the basement warehouse closet, the barbecue-scented offices, the Christmas-rush distribution centers, and the door-desk filled conference rooms in the early years of Amazon’s history.

Her office was next to his and she’s widely talked about falling for his laugh. Three months after they began dating they became engaged, three months later they were married. The year was 1993 and Mackenzie was only 23. That was also the year her hubby launched Amazon.
During their marriage, the couple became parents of four kids, a daughter, adopted from China, and three sons.

During their marriage, Mackenzie was widely known as the supportive spouse who openly admitted, Bezos being the social one, while she described herself as more of a loner. However, she always rose to the occasion, having such a famous man as her spouse.

In 2019, after 25-years of marriage, the couple announced their ultimate divorce.
The two announced their separation labeling it as ‘amicable.’
It quickly became potentially the most expensive divorce settlement in history, with Bezos having a an estimated net worth of $160bn.

At the time, the ex-couple’s shared a statement on social media saying that after a trial separation they had decided to continue their lives as friends. They also suggested they would continue to be partners in vestures and projects but also individuals pursuing adventures.

Two years after her divorce, MacKenzie has found love again with second husband, Dan Jewett. Her Amazon biography also notes that Scott “lives in Seattle with her four children and her husband, Dan.”
