Colleen Long is the mother of Ian David Long; her son is the 28-year-old former U.S. Marine who suffered from PTSD and who opened fire at a Thousand Oaks college bar killing 12 people; he later turned the gun to himself.

Mrs. Long formerly known as Colleen Marie Foley was born on September 21, 1957. According to records online, Mrs. Long who is also known as Colleen King is related to Sonia Long, David Long, Bruce Long, Stavroula Tzavaras, Ian Long.

She studied at Patrick Henry High School and works at Dole, prior to that worked for Vans.

Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean said Ian David Long lived with Colleen, adding that it had been her car that he drove to the Thousand Oaks nightclub.

According to one of Mrs. Long’s neighbors, following an incident in April 2018; when they heard loud crashes and police had to intervene, Colleen said she was terrified he was going to harm himself or others.

On that occasion, Ian was acting ‘irrationally’ and was ‘irate’ so police called in their mental health specialist but they cleared him, deciding against having him committed.
