Casey Anthony’s Father George Anthony

George Anthony

George Anthony is the father of infamous Casey Anthony –whom you may remember as being absolved for the murder of her own child.

George’s daughter was found not guilty in 2011 for the 2008 murder of her daughter, Caylee.

At the time, prosecutors alleged Casey Anthony used chloroform to render her daughter unconscious and then duct-taped her mouth and nose to suffocate her. They alleged that she put the child’s body in the trunk of her car for a few days before disposing of it. The girl’s body was found six months after she disappeared.

Casey Anthony’s attorneys argued that the toddler accidentally drowned in the family pool and that Casey Anthony’s father helped her cover it up.

Little Caylee lived with mother Casey and her maternal grandparents, Cindy and George Anthony. During trial, George Anthony –who is a retired police officer –was accused of sexually abusing his daughter, Casey, however he denied this and also denied having anything to do with the death of his granddaughter.

According to reports, the father and daughter have not spoken since the trial.

67-year-old George Anthony is being thrown into the spotlight again after reports say he suffered a car accident in Florida. According to People, he veered off and flipped several times while driving his wife’s Toyota 4Runner, and was taken to the hospital with incapacitating injuries.

Both George and wife Cindy appeared in last month in an interview with Dr. Oz. George Anthony said about his daughter: “We’re not connected anymore,” And that hurts.  I wish I could be part of her life, but I would never feel comfortable around her. I can’t trust her.”

He’s also appeared on Dr. Phil –stating he blames daughter Casey for his granddaughter ‘not being here anymore.’

George’s theory about his granddaughter’s death is that Casey drugged her in order to have a night out on the town.
