The weekend didn’t start off too good for 19-year-old rapper, Desiigner. According to reports the ‘Panda’ singer has been arrested.

TMZ reports, Desiigner was busted Thursday night in NYC in a road rage incident. He was later taken in for felony drug and weapons charges.

A driver arguing with Desiigner called 911 and told police the young rapper pointed a gun at him. The SUV he was riding took off but the other driver took down the license plate number.

When police found Desiigner’s SUV, they conducted a search. Cops found a large quantity of loose pills, sources tell TMZ it was Oxycontin and other drugs.

Desiigner was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of drugs with intent to sell, criminal possession of a loaded weapon and menacing.

He and four others were arrested.

Sidney Royel Selby III a.k.a Desiigner has taken rap music by storm. With his hit song “Panda” getting over a million views on YouTube, Desiigner is also featured on Kanye West’s newest album “The Life of Pablo.”

Desiigner released his debut single, “Panda” a few days before Christmas 2015, the song racked up millions of views on YouTube and six weeks later, Desiigner was signed to Kanye West’s GOOD Music record label.

He is often described as Kanye West’s protégé and often compared to Future. He doesn’t seem to mind the Future comparisons saying: “I think he’s a great artist and I ain’t going to ever turn him down.”

When asked how he got his start in music, Desiigner said he was involved in music all his life. The rapper was even in his school’s choir. “I used to be in the choir at school, I used to just do it all, church. Music was just in me; it was in my soul. It’s what got me out; I knew my destiny from the start,” he said.

He still is somewhat of a new face in the industry, so getting in trouble with the law is not something particularly shocking for a young rapper. That also means, there are a few things we still don’t know about him.

Desiigner seems to be single at the moment. Though he was linked to Lil’ Kim for like two seconds he hasn’t been in a serious relationship yet.
