Broyoan Lopez Man Stole From Woman in Wheelchair

Broyoan Lopez has been identified as the crook who shamelessly stole money out f the bra of an elderly woman in a wheelchair. Aren’t you just sickened by some people?!

The 26-year-old targeted 93-year-old Maria Vasquez as he walked up to her from behind. Broyoan was caught on camera as he took $600 from the elderly woman who sat in her wheelchair.

The robbery took place Wednesday afternoon inside a department store.

Vasquez had just cashed her Social Security check at a nearby bank. She was shopping for a new pair of sandals at Regines in East Harlem when the thief struck at around noon.

She told reporters, she was waiting for her caretaker to finish the shopping when

According to the NY Post, the owner of the store, was devastated after replaying the video and decided to replace Vasquez’s money.

According to the NY Daily News, concerned New Yorkers opened a Go Fund Ma page in order to help the wheelchair-bound 93-year-old woman.

The NYPD Warrant Squad reportedly spotted Broyoan Lopez near his home just before 7 a.m. In the surveillance video his beard and hair in a bun are clearly visible.

Lopez was arrested this morning and was being held at the 25th Precinc.

Lopez was charged with robbery, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property according to cops.

Mrs. Vasquez was said to be happy to hear Lopez had been caught.
