Amanda Soto is the pretty wife of Florida Congressman, Darren Soto –and who is said to have been arrested over the weekend.

Amanda’s husband Rep. Soto represents the 9th District for the state of Florida in the US House of Representative. He was elected to the House in 2016 and began his term in 2017, after nearly 10 years of collective service in both the Florida state House and Senate.

Darren Michael Soto was born February 25, 1978; he is of Puerto Rican descent. Following his graduation from college Darren –an accomplished lawyer –moved to Orlando and joined the Young Democrats. He ran for the Florida House at age 28.

The democrat recently was forced to reveal his wife, Amanda Soto lives with a mental illness –after an altercation got her locked up.

Reports say Mrs. Soto was arrested on a charge of disorderly intoxication. According to a statement made by her husband, she had been receiving treatment for depression and she stopped taking it. As a result, she drank too much alcohol and “reached an argumentative state with a family member, which led to arrest.” She was released from custody early Monday morning.

Additionally, the statement read, Amanda Soto regrets her actions and takes full responsibility for them. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Amanda got into a fight with non-other than her own mother. The police report says a security guard said the mother and daughter had become aggressive towards each other and at one point Amanda Soto was seen holding her mother by the straps of the backpack she was wearing in an attempt to keep her from walking away.

It’s believed both mother and daughter were intoxicated. One in custody, Amanda began banging her head against the window of a patrol car. She had to be further restrained for her own safety.

33-year-old Amanda Soto was born Amanda Betlow, she is a math and science coach. On Twitter she calls herself an ‘Adventurer, and Animal Lover. She also serves as the Chief of Technology and Administration at Underground Refuse Systems. According to her LinkedIn, she holds a M.A., Applied Learning and Instruction from the University of Central Florida.
