13-year-old Izabel Laxamana –a Tacoma, Washington resident –committed suicide after jumping off a highway overpass on Friday, May 29. She was rushed to a Seattle hospital where she died on Saturday reports say.
Days prior to her suicide, a series of events took place and according to several reports what prompted the teen to such decision was the fact that her father posted a video online to try and teach her a lesson. The ‘shaming video’ shows Izabel standing right in front of what used to be her long locks. It is believed her father either cut her hair off or made her cut it off. The video was uploaded to YouTube but has been removed since.
The voice of a male believe to be her father (Jeff) can be heard saying: ‘The consequences of getting messed up, man, you lost all that beautiful hair,” “Was it worth it?” “How many times did I warn you?”
Her death has been a hot topic with many criticizing her father for the video. A Facebook page titled Justice for Izabel is filled with requests for her father to be criminally prosecuted or else publicly shamed himself.

However, the exact cause of her suicide it’s hard to tell; the details of what Izabel was going through are still unknown and there’s a chance her family might never find out.
The pretty teen attended Giaudrone Middle School and in a Google Plus post from last year, she didn’t have the best of times in school. According to jezebel.com she wrote about being bullied and feeling alone at school.
