Heather Matarazzo Stranger Things Gaten Matarazzo’s Mother

Heather Matarazzo is the celebrity mom of child star, Gaten Matarazzo. Her 14-year-old actor son, plays Dustin Henderson in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things.

Heather’s son recently spoke about his rare condition.

Heather Matarazzo is married to Gaten Matarazzo Sr. Together they are the parents of three, including Gaten. Heather Matarazzo is also the mom of daughter Sabrina and son, Carmen. All three of her children have been involved in showbiz.

She gave birth to son Gaten on September 8, 2002, in New Jersey. He was born with cleidocranial dysplasia –which translates into a delayed development of bones.

His character, Dustin, is also afflicted with the condition in Stranger Things –reason why he does not have any front teeth.

Gaten recently stopped by The Jonathan Ross Show and talked about his battle with cleidocranial dysostosis.

“It’s a condition where you’re born without your collarbones,” he told Ross. “I don’t have any. It affects your facial growth, your skull growth, your teeth — that’s why I don’t have any [teeth], these are fake right here. I have teeth, but they’re all baby teeth. I need a lot of surgery.”

The teen also sais he has a mile case and others have it much worse. He added how glad he is that the condition is being showcased in the series, saying

“I just wanna raise awareness for it and let people know it’s not something that they should be afraid of showing”

And that’s exactly what he does, by often showing off his fake teeth whilst on the red carpet.

Heather’s son made his acting debut in 2011. That year Gaten was cast an alternate for the Broadway production of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: The Musical. Gaten was also casted as Gavroche in Les Misérables as well as part of Godspell’s cast of 2032 as Jesus.

Last year he also appeared in The Blacklist as “Finn.”

Heather got a taste of fame this year after she was her son’s date at the Emmys. The mom and wife, describes herself as “a Broadway stage mom, a soccer/basketball mom.” Heather Matarazzo is active on social media.

According to her Facebook page, she is a Cashier at ACME Markets. Heather is originally from Waterford, Connecticut.
