39-year-old actress Mayim Bialik paid tribute to her father Barry Bialik on a blog post Tuesday. Mayim posted to her Instagram account the photo above captioned “I have been absent from social media because my dad died”
The Big Bang star wrote on a Kveller post “For those of you who have lost someone else you were close to, you also tell me you know how I feel,”
According to Mayim, her father had been living in a hospice for the last couple of months, which gave her the chance to prepare for the loss.
Barry was married to Mayim’s mother, Beverly (née Winkleman), he was a grandfather to her two children. According to online records , Barry Eugene Bialik worked at Van Nuys Middle School, he was 72-years-old.
The only child of her parents, she shared her struggle following her father’s loss, saying: nothing could quite prepare Mayim for the pain and grief she would feel following her father’s death. ‘For now, I am praying a lot. And remembering a lot. And crying. And also laughing.
She reveals she is deep in the Jewish mourning process and hopes to share more soon.
The actress who is known for her role as Amy Farrah Fowler on CBS’ comedy, The Big Bang Theory titled her blog post “Mourning My Father’s Death” you can read the rest here . According to Jewish tradition she could spend an entire year mourning.
