Sonia Forbes Adam is the wife of Irish actor and comedian James Nesbitt, known for  his roles in The Hobbit, Five Minutes of Heaven, Midnight Man, Babylon and more recently Stan Lee’s Lucky Man. Nesbitt and Sonia have been married for  over two decades and have two lovely daughters together.

James Jimmy Nesbitt was born in Ballymena, County Antrim, Northern Ireland to May and James Nesbitt. He attended at Coleraine Academy Institution. Nesbitt once a student at University of Ulster where he pursued a degree  in French before dropping out to attend at Riverside Theater to pursue a career in acting that also drawn him to a Drama school in London. He graduated at the age of 22 in 1987.

After a successful start in theater, Nesbitt starred as Private Smart in the 1985 t.v series The Ties of Blood and The End of the World Man, in 1989 he was in Screen Two and Hear my Song, two years later he played Martin Mulholland in Boon.

Nesbitt has been in over 25 television series and films like Welcome Sarajevo, This is the Sea, The James Gang and Jumpers in 1997, Waking Ned Neville in 1998, Women Talking ***** and Resurrection Man in 1999, Lucky Break and Murphy’s Law in 2001, ****** Sunday in 2002, Walk of Silence, Passers By, Quite Ugly This Morning, Millions in 2004 and Match Point in 2005.

He play Joe Griffin in the 2008 movie Five Minutes of Heaven and Crilly in Cherrybomb in 2009; he was also in the 2010 film Outcast and Bofur in the Hobbit Trilogy films.

James Nesbitt’s wife is Sonia Forbes Adam born in 1965 in Southstoke, Math in Somerset, England to Reverend Sir Timothy Forbes Adam and actress Penelope Munday who is also the parents of Sonia’s sisters Kate, Victoria and Lucy. She studied at Lewiston Convent School in Sherbourne, in Dorset and trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London.

Sonia Forbes Adam played Maryon York in the 1996 t.v movie Witness Against Hitler, she got married to James Nesbitt in 1994, they met in 1989 at the final call-back for Hamlet at Loughborough. James and wife Sonia Forbes have two daughters together Peggy, 18, and Mary Nesbitt, 13. Both of Sonia and James Nesbitt’s girls appeared in the last two Hobbit’s films as the daughters of daughters of Bard the Bowman.

In 2002 rumors about a split between Sonia and James began to circulate following the publication of an article on  a Sunday tabloid that claimed Nesbitt had a two-year affair withDawn Chapman a legal secretary, this came shortly before a mother tabloid reported Nesbitt had yet another affair with Sam Price a 17-year-old prostitute as well with former Miss Ireland Amanda Brunker and his Cold Feet Co-star Kimberly Joseph.

James and wife Sonia announced in 2013 they have been living separate lives for the past two years, they made it clear none of the claims of any alleged affairs were not the reason for the split.
