Meet Monty Brinson
Monty Brinson, the husband of actress and reality TV personality Kim Richards has died. According to reports , Monty Brinson lost his battle to lung cancer Sunday night. He was 58-years-old.
It was through a social media post that Rick Hilton , revealed his former brother-in-law had died following a brave battle with cancer. As you might know, Rick Hilton is married to Kim Richards’ half sister, Kathy Hilton; the mother of Paris, Nicky, Barron and Conrad Hilton.
As we learned from watching “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” even though, they weren’t together anymore, Kim and Bronson remained close friends after their divorce. The former couple lived together in past few years when he was battling cancer.
Kim –who’s substance addiction has been well publicized –had no reserves in saying Brinson’s cancer battle sometimes pushed her over the edge in her own battle with drugs.
Monty Brinson and Kim Richards tied the knot in 1985. The marriage only lasted three-years. They became parents to Brooke Brinson in 1986. Brinson and Richards divorced in 1988. They remained friends and shared custody of Brooke.
G. Monty Brinson was heir to a supermarket franchise. While together, the couple started a production company, Richards-Brinson, and worked on the 1990 movie Escape together. He later became a professional poker player .
Following their divorce, Richards married Gregg Davis, with whom she became the mother of daughter, Whitney and son Chad Davis. She divorced her second husband in 1991.
That same year, tragedy struck when Kim’s fiance, commodities salesman John J. Collett, was murdered by a hit man in a business deal gone bad. The ordeal had a deep impact on Kim, but she eventually moved on. She gave birth to her fourth child Kimberly — whose father is an ex-boyfriend, aircraft-parts supplier John Jackson — in 1995.
With all and all, after Monty Brinson was diagnosed with cancer, it was a kick in the stomach to Kim. He has always been the constant in her life.
