Meet Chandler Powell
Chandler Powell is an 18-year-old wakeboarder who is currently dating 17-year-old Bindi Irwin; the teen couple should be excited as Bindi just landed a spot in the upcoming season of DWTS, reports say.
Bindi –who is the daughter of the late Crocodile hunter Steve Irwin –has been revealed as the first celebrity contestant on the popular show.
Bindi will surely be ecstatic to be on the show as it gives her the chance to live in the U.S. where is also where Powell resides.
She told the Sunday Style earlier this year about her relationship with Powell: ‘I feel lucky to have him in my life.’ She also revealed they met in late 2013.
According to the Daily Mail , Chandler was recently signed as a global ambassador for Wildlife Warriors , which means they will be doing work together.
Chandler travels on the World Series circuit making his way on top of the podium in National Championships, North American Championships, and World Championships. In addition to competitions, Chandler also travels for wakeboard clinics, filming wakeboard videos, riding in demos, and judging amateur contests.
He is a native of Seffner, Florida who was born November 14, 1996; according to his website , he’s been wakeboarding since the age of 12. He is currently enrolled at the University of Central Florida.
He reveals his riding improved tremendously after spending a whole summer in the water and began competing professionally at age 15, that’s when he began traveling the world. In his first year he went to China, Abu Dhabi, Philippines, Australia and Thailand.
Powell won the overall features title for the 2014 Triple Crown and says that’s his best moment so far and you won’t guess which is his favorite place to travel? Australia! because according to Powell “there is so much to do.”
As you might imagine, Chandler loves everything outdoors, from hiking, surfing, biking, kayaking, to skateboarding.
Chandler currently balances wakeboading and school and lets not forget a pretty girlfriend. He is majoring in Marketing with a minor in International Business.
