Will Reeve is the proud son of the late “Superman” star Christopher Reeve and his wife, Dana Reeve. The 24-year-old is making headlines after announcing he’ll be running his first NYC marathon in memory of his parents.
The hunky Reeve happens to be Ambassador and Board Member for the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, which benefits those affected by spinal cord injuries. In his pursuit to carry on his parents’ legacy, he is hoping to raise $35,000 for the organization set up by his parents.
Will hadn’t even turned 3 when his father was paralyzed in 1995 and was just 11-years-old when Christopher died in 2004. Two years later, tragedy struck again when his mother, Dana Reeve, died of lung cancer at the young age of 44. Before her death, Dana arranged for her only son to live with a close friend.
The young Reeve has many memories of both his parents. He shared an interest in sports with his father, who watched him play hockey among other sports.
Will was born William Elliot Reeve on June 7, 1992 in Massachusetts but was raised in Connecticut. He has an older half-brother, Matthew, and half-sister, Alexandra, from his father’s previous relationship with British model Gae Exton.
Will who is the spitting image of his late father, had his stint in acting when he was younger.
He first appeared in Glenn Close’s 1997 TV Movie, In The Gloaming. He then went on to play a small role in The Brooke Ellison story, another TV movie that had his dad in the director’s chair.
Reeve is a 2014 graduate of Middlebury (Vermont) College with Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and American Literatures.
After interning at Good Morning America, Will earned a spot on ESPN’s SportsCenter.
The ESPN reporter joined the network in 2014. According to his profile, he contributes to SportsCenter and ESPN across all platforms, focusing on stories that highlight the humanity in sports.
