Ariadna Gil
Meet the lovely Ariadna Gil; she is the utterly lovely long-time girlfriend of actor Viggo Mortensen. He is the handsome actor famous for his role as Aragon in Peter Jackson’s film Lord Of The Rings.
Now Ms. Gil is no stranger to stardom, as she is an actress herself and a fine good one I must add. She was born on January 23, 1969, in Barcelona, Spain. She is one of the children born to Spanish lawyer August Gil Matamala.
Ms. Gil a fine dancer, singer, and violinist, joined her two brothers in their band Matamala.
In her teenage years, she worked as a model and gave Catalan classes on television. But pretty soon the acting bug bite her. Her first acting role was in the 1986 film Lola; in 1992 she appeared in Amor tu Came Rica, Mal de Amores and played Violeta in Belle Epoque. Two years later she worked in Todo es Mentor and Los Peores Anos de Nuestra Vida.
She met her first husband director David Trueba in the mid 90’s; she worked in his film Obra Maestra, he directed her once again in 2003 in the film Soldados de Salamina. Ariadna starred as Carmen in Guillermo Del Toro’s film Pan’s Labyrinth.

From her marriage to David Trueba, Ms. Gil has two children; daughter Violeta Rodriguez and son Leo Trueba. Her daughter Violeta, also an actress.

Ariadna met Viggo Mortensen in the set of Alatriste in 2006, they worked together again two years later in the film Appaloosa, it is believed they started dating a year later.
Viggo and Ariadna never married and don’t have any children together. Although he has a child of his own. His son Henry Blake Mortensen was born on January 28, 1988. The mother of his child is his ex-wife singer and actress Exebe Cervenka.
They married on July 8, 1987, after meeting each other on the set of the comedy Salvation in 1986. Their marriage didn’t work out and decided to split up in 1992; eventually divorced in 1997.
