David Benjamin Richard Whitten is the longtime boyfriend of TV actress, Countess Vaughn.
Whitten’s actress girlfriend is best known for appearing on the series Moesha back in the 90’s. She also starred in The Parkers from 1999 until 2004.
Her acting earned her an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress. She also began appearing on the reality series Hollywood Divas in 2014. She had her first acting role as a young child playing the role of Alexandria DeWitt in 227.
Now in her 40’s, the Oklahoma native reveals she’s been a victim of abuse for years. Vaughn claims her partner of over a decade, Benjamin Richard Whitten –threw bleach in her face and now she’s seeking an order of protection against him.
TMZ reports, David Benjamin Richard Whitten chucked bleach at her face back in June to keep her from working as an actress.
She obtained an order to keep him 100 yards clear of her and her children. The 90’s actress also reveals she’s endured a decade of physical, verbal and emotional abuse from him — including alleged slapping, beating, strangulation and sexual assault.
Whitten also allegedly threatened her to leak explicit videos of her and even threatened to kill her at times.
Back in 2014, Countess revealed during a therapy session that she had an abortion around the age of 18. Not only did she make the painful decision to have an abortion, but the actress was also forced to keep the procedure a secret.
Countess was previously married to Joseph James with whom she welcomed a son, 15-year-old Jaylen. It is unclear when she and James parted ways or why. She is also the mother of daughter, Sasha 9, whose father is David Benjamin Richard Whitten.
