Ashton Matheny Missing Woman Savanna Greywind’s Boyfriend

Ashton Matheny is the boyfriend and baby daddy of Savanna Greywind –the North Dakota woman, who went missing earlier this month, and whose body has been found.

Ashton last heard from his expectant girlfriend on August 19^th, after she texted him before going upstairs to help her neighbor, but she never came back.

22-year-old Savanna Greywind was 8-months pregnant when she disappeared. Authorities had been searching for her when her body was discovered by kayakers on the Red River on Sunday. According to Fargo police Greywind’s body had been wrapped in a plastic bag and was stuck on a log in the river.

According to Savanna’s mother, Norberta LaFontaine-Greywind –the woman living in a third-floor apartment identified as Brooke Lynn Crews, knocked on the door of the LaFontaine-Greywind family’s apartment and asked if Savanna would model a dress she was sewing so she could pin it, offering to pay her $20 for doing so, the Forum News Service reports.

Savanna went upstairs to her neighbor failing to return home.

Since then, police has searched the neighbor’s apartment and found a newborn baby. Brooke Lynn Crews was arrested along with William Henry Hoehn. Crews confirmed the baby belong to Savanna but authorities are waiting on DNA testing. They have been charged with kidnapping.

Matheny said he and Savanna were about to move into a new apartment, which they had prepared for the baby’s arrival. They were expecting a baby girl. He said they would name her Haisley Jo.

Ashton Matheny and Savanna had been dating for six years before her murder.

Matheny is a member of the Spirit Lake tribe. He had been staying with his dad, Mark Matheny Sr. –on the reservation near Devils Lake until his girlfriend’s disappearance. Ashton Robert Matheny previously lived in Minneapolis –where he worked in construction, but moved back to North Dakota to be nearer to Savanna.

According to his social media, he graduated Devils Lake High School in 2014. He is originally from Saint Michael, North Dakota.

Matheny told media he hasn’t been allowed to see the baby, saying it is ‘frustrating.’

The baby believed to be Ashton’s and Savanna, remains at Sanford Children’s Hospital and in the custody of Cass County Social Services.
