Steve Romeo: Driver that killed 4 girls in Limo Crash

Meet 55-year-old Steve Romeo, a businessman from Southold, NY,; who allegedly killed 4 young women when he rammed his red pickup truck into their “stretch ride.”



Southhold Town Police Department, said yesterday Mr. Romeo crashed into a limousine carrying eight best pals –and killing four –who were celebrating an upcoming event believed to be the wedding of one of them.

The fatal victims have been identified as Brittney Schulman, 23, and Lauren Baruch, 24, both of Smithtown; Stephanie Belli, 23, of Kings Park, and Amy Grabina, 23, of Commack. They were leaving Vineyard 48 winery on the North Fork of Long Island when their lives were cut short.

The NY Daily News says, the limo driver identified as 58-year-old Carlos Pino attempted the U-turn at an intersection by the winery when the crash occurred at 5:11 p.m. Pino was also taken to the hospital.

According to reports, Steve has been charged with misdemeanor DWI in the crash.  He is being held on $500,000 cash or $1 million bond, his lawyer Dan O’Brien said outside Eastern Long Island Hospital.

The fatal crash was so violent that witnesses say they could see bodies –mostly arms –hanging from the limousine that was nearly cut in half.

The survivors are said to be Joelle Dimonte, 25; Angela Crai, 23; Alicia Arundel, 24 and Olga Lipets, 24. They were treated at local hospitals.

Romeo –who happens to be the co-owner of Romeo Dimon Marine Service –has actually been in a previous wreckage. The Daily Mail says, on Jan. 23, 2014, he was operating a skid-steer loader when its bucket fell off, striking an employee of his company and accidentally killing him. A lawsuit from that case in still pending.

Romeo, who allegedly feld the scene and was arrested later –has pleaded not guilty to DWI. Romeo is married to Nancy Strong and they have one adult son together, Kyle Strong Romeo.
