Ta’Rhonda Jones is the rapper and actress sister of actress and stand up comedian, Leslie Jones.
Both sisters have gone out to carve for themselves successful careers in showbiz. While older sister Leslie, is known for her work on SNL and Ghostbusters, Ta’Rhonda Jones gives life to Porscha on FOX’s Empire.
Outrage has been expressed in the acting community after Ta’Rhonda’s big sis was hacked for the second time! According to tabloids , the eldest Jones has been attacked online, with her personal website allegedly being hacked and now down.
Leslie was born on September 7, 1967 in Memphis, Tennessee. She is a comedic vet, having been performing for almost 30-years. Active in the industry since 1987, Jones has gone on to toured with Katt Williams, appeared on BET, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, Showtime and more.
Jones received a basketball scholarship to Chapman University, and later attended Colorado State University. She started performing stand-up comedy in college.
While living in Los Angeles, she performed at The Comedy Store, The Improv Hollywood, The Laugh Factory, etc. She is also known for her 1 hour Showtime special “Problem Child.”
To put the cherry on top to her comedian career, she joined the cast of SNL as a member and writer in 2013. In 2014, Jones got out of the writers’ room and in front of the cameras when she first performed in a Weekend Update segment, ranting about her hilarious dating experiences, which quickly earned her a fan following. Later that year, she joined the cast, the first time SNL included more than one African-American woman in its cast.
When it comes to acting, she has major roles in movies including, “Lottery Ticket” and most recently she can be enjoyed chasing ghosts in the all-female remake of “Ghostbusters.”
Ta’Rhonda Jones was born July 12, 1988 in Chicago, Illinois. She is a double threat as rapper and actress.
Aside from her role as Porscha Taylor on Empire, she also had a role in an episode of Chicago P.D. entitled “Get Back to Even” in 2015.
Ta’Rhonda Jones released her first single, “Juice” last year and is said to be working on new material.
