Meet Mohamed Abdeslam
Mohamed Abdeslam has been named as the brother of Salah and Ibrahim Abdeslam, all Belgian-born French nationals –the last two connected to the Paris Attacks.
Thanks to the raids carried out around the country following one of the bloodiest attacks of French modern history, officials displayed a manhunt for 26-year-old Salah Abdeslam, who is believed to have helped carry out the consecutive attacks.
While 26-year-old Salah Abdeslam –who is suspected to be one of the man who brought terror and panic in Paris on Friday, November 13th –remains at large; his brother, Ibrahim Abdeslam, was one of the attackers who died in Paris, leading police to raid their home but without no luck in finding Salah Abdeslam.
However, police did arrest a third brother, by the name of Mohamed Abdeslam –who’s already been released, according to the NY Times.
According to French outlets, Abdeslam Mohammed was arrested in Molenbeek in the apartment of his family Saturday afternoon. Unlike his brothers, he is not under suspicion and has been released.
The awyer of Abdeslam Mohammed, Nathalie Gallant, confirmed.
The former mayor of Molenbeek Moureaux backed up Mohamed Abdeslam saying he has worked in the past in various departments within the municipality. He even landed on the Cabinet of Moureaux, who was mayor between 1992 and 2012. There Abdeslam worked as dactylograaf. Before that, he worked at the Department of Demography of the administration.
Abdeslam Mohammed went onto work at the Immigration Department of the municipality. “That holds particularly engaged with regularization files,” said Moureaux. “Abdeslam worked until a few days on that service.”
Many analysts believe Moureaux, he fell short in curbing the radicalization of Muslim youth in his church.
We found on social media a man with the same name, and although photos of Mohamed Abdeslam haven’t been officially released, we think this man (pictured below), shares a considerate resemblance with Salah Abdeslam –who has been identified by French authorities as directly linked to the attacks.
The French National Police issued an arrest warrant Sunday for Salah Abdeslam. He is described by authorities 5 feet 7 inches tall and “dangerous.”
While Ibrahim is believed to have been one of the suicide bombers, Salah, allegedly helped with logistics and rented one of the cars used in the attacks, among other things. Both lived in Belgium for years, as reported by the Washington Post.
According to the Daily Mail, 31-year-old Ibrahim Abdeslam, set off a suicide vest inside cafe ‘Comptoir Voltaire’ on the Boulevard Voltaire and close to the Bataclan theatre.
A photo of their mother (below) was released saying her son, not meant to kill anyone.
Authorities keep looking at least one more person linked to the deadly attacks but it appears Mohamed Abdeslam is off the hook.
