Chris Merton
Chris Merton is the husband of Johnson & Johnson heiress, Jazz Johnson-Merton. His lovely wife made headlines after she allegedly lost her temper and kicked her horse in the stomach.
Chris Merton is a businessman and the co-owner at Black River Roasters . According to his LinkedIn, he is also a Trustee at Far Hills Country Day School.
He graduated from St. George’s School in 1985 and went onto attend the University of Vermont from 1986 until 1989 –form where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree, Education. He also holds a Bachelors, Human Resources from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Mr. Merton spent five years (2008-2013) as a Board Member of the Jacobus Vanderveer House. In 2014 he became a trustee at Far Hills Country Day School in Far Hills, New Jersey.
In 2009 he became the owner of Black River Roasters –a socially responsible artisan-coffee roasting company. His company specializes in organic, Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance certified coffees sourced from small-yield cooperatives and estates.
Merton might not be so happy with his wife after she is being investigated by the United States Equestrian Federation following the incident which took place in New York at the Hampton Classic Horse Show on September 1.
According to The Social Climber’s Bible , -a book Jazz Johnson co-authored, she belongs to the “most exclusive clubs in the world.”
The 39-year-old is also an avid equestrian and jewelry designer. Ms. Johnson has won in the Amateur Owner Hunter division at the top horse shows in the country. She currently manages her family estate, serves on the board of charitable foundations, and is master of the Essex Fox Hounds.
Jazz Johnson is a graduate of Barnard College, her grandfather was J. Seward Johnson Sr., a former J & J executive, world-renowned yachtsman, philanthropist, and founder of the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute. Her brother Jamie Johnson won acclaim for his HBO doc, “Born Rich.”
She and her husband have been married for years now. They have two children together; a son and a daughter.
