Jane Wicker died in a terrible accident at the Vectren Dayton Air Show in Ohio, Mrs. Wicker a divorced mother of two was on top the biplane at the Vectren Air Show near Dayton, Ohio when it plunged to the ground around 12:45 p.m in front of horrified onlookers, her veteran pilot Charlie Schwenker was also confirmed dead around 2 p.m. The wreckage of the plane was removed from the field at about 4:45 p.m. Jane Wicker is survived by her two sons and boyfriend Rock Skowbo.
It is with sad hearts that we announce that Jane Wicker and Charlie Schwenker were tragically killed while performing at the Vectren Dayton Airshow. We ask for your prayers for the families and privacy of all involved and allow them time to grieve and work through these events.
No one else was involved in the accident.
Charlie Schwenker started flying sailplanes in 1975. He began flying aerobatics in gliders, and moved on to competition aerobatics in powered aircraft in 1990. He was a past Canadian National Aerobatic Champion and still competes when time allows. A frequent performer at the Flying Circus in Bealeton, Virginia, Mr. Schwenker was currently flying an Extra 300. At the Leeburg Airshow, Charlies will give a twisting, turning, gravity-defying aerobatic performance in his Extra 300.
45-year-old Jane Law Wicker from Bristow, VA was born on June 29, 1967, she was the proud mother of her two amazing teenage sons, Jane who was working on her degree in finance after returning to school recently was also a budget-analyst at the FAA, a freelance writer. She first became interested in aviation in 1988, that same year she began her flying lessons, by 1989 she was a certified pilot.
That same year she was gifted with a aerobatic flight which she loved, in 1990 she applied for a job as wing walker she saw in an ad at the Flying Circus in Bealeton, Virginia.
She met 56-year-old Kirk Wicker at a a wing-walking audition, soon they got married and joined their talents creating ‘Beauty and the Beast Wing Walking’. During their marriage Jane and Kirk Wicker has two sons her Patrick and Ben, 18, who just graduated this month from Patriot High School in Nokesville, VA.
Kirk was Jane’s pilot until they got divorced in 2002, she quit wing walking from that time but made her comeback in 2009. The former couple apparently remained good friends, last September he flew a Boeing PT-17 “Super Stearman” biplane “Aurora”while Jane stood on the wing at the Cleveland National Air Show at Burke Lakefront Airport, Kirk’s fiancée Diane D’Aubin who is part of the team and Jane’s fiancée Rock all part of their team in Virginia get along pretty well,

Jane had given love a second chance and apparently to marriage, she and flight Instructor and mechanic Rock Skowbo got engaged last December 12th, at the top of the Eifel tower at the Paris Las Vegas at the International Council of Airshows convention, they plan to get married on the wing of their plane at a airshow in 2014 with with Scott Yoak at the controls.
Jane met Rock on on July 18, 2010 at the Flying Circus Airshow in Bealeton, VA, they talked for a bit and some time later Rock friended her on Facebook, they went on their first date in in September.
48-year-old Rock Gary Skowbo also a divorced father of three, graduated from Dos Pueblos High School in Goleta, CA, He worked with the United States Air Force Academy, WestAir Airlines, Atlantic Coast Airlines, BSR, Inc., United Airline and was a flight instructor since 1987.
