We are sadden to know the four bodies belonging to Darrin, Kim, Colin and Megan Campbell were found in the charred remains at a Florida mansion belonging to a former tennis star James Blake.
A couple and their two children, were renting the 7,600-square foot home million-dollar home located
inside the exclusive Avila Golf and Country Club in Tampa that went up in flames around 6a.m.
The Campell’s were renting the home from Blake –a fourth-ranking ATP tennis player, purchased the home in Avila for $1.5 million in 2005.
Shockingly a reporter at the scene tweeted the victims had ‘gunshot wounds to the head’ as well as fireworks strapped to them!
Darrin Campbell, his wife Kimberly and their teenage children Colin and Megan, aged 19 and 16 respectively, had been living in the house for a little more than a year and kept to themselves.
Husband and father, Darrin Campbell was the VP of Operations at IVANS Inc. Although according to the NYdailynews he no longer worked there. According to his LinkedIn profile. Prior to joining IVANS, Darrin was Chief Operating Officer ofPODS Enterprises, Inc. where he tripled the scale of the business in three years. Darrin has also held senior executive positions in operations, sales and marketing, and finance at Anchor Glass Container Corporation, Pabst Brewing Company, and Fretter Appliance, Inc.
Darrin had a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Economics from The University of Detroit.
Both children, Colin, 19, and Megan, 16, attended Carrollwood day school. According to her Twitter, Megan has just yesterday won an academic award at the school.
According to Colin’s Facebook the family is originally from Detroit, Michigan. The 19-year-old was involved in sports and social programs.
Colin Campbell was a senior who starred on the school’s baseball team. Megan was a freshman.
Their mother, Ms. Campbell hasn’t been identified yet but neighbors said she was “sophisticated and classy”
Authorities said The fourth body was not found until after the blaze was contained about 11:30 a.m. Some neighbors reported hearing the sound of gunshots, but authorities said the explosions were likely the result of the fireworks found inside.
Police is still investigating the either tragic accident scene or what could become a murder scene.
