Today Maren was supposed to attend her Junior prom –which was set to begin at a banquet hall in nearby Stratford on Friday at 7 p.m. Officials said the event will be rescheduled. Sanchez was a very active student, according to the school’s superintended. She has two older siblings, sister Brittney and brother Jordan Sanchez.

The New York Daily News reports that the suspect shoved Maren down a staircase inside the school and tried to choke her as other students looked on, Plaskon then proceeded to stabbed Sanchez in her neck with a kitchen knife. Shockingly the paper also describes Palskon to have a similar reputation as Maren’s. Friends said
“He was smart, he did well in classes,” “Something had to snap.”
According to close friends, she was expected to appear next weekend in the group’s performance of the musical, “Little Shop of Horrors.”
