Meet Brian Short
Brian Short, his wife Karen and their three children were found dead after no one heard of them for days and their kids didn’t show up for school.
A frightening discovery was made at the lakeside mansion of the family of five in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
What was once a home for three kids and the Short marriage became a gruesome scene. Brian and Karen and their three kids, two daughters and one son, allegedly suffered gunshot wounds, the Mirror reports.
Police labeled the case a murder-suicide, The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports, that officers found the bodies in different parts of the house.
Brian Short, was the founder and CEO of a company called Allnurses.com. According to the website, Allnurses is a social network for nurses with over 800,000 members and over 3.3 million monthly unique visitors. 13 MIllion monthly pageviews. allnurses.com is the largest and most engaged nursing audience online.
The website also reveals, Brian was a registered nurse, –with several years experience in CCU, Geriatrics, Long Term Acute Care, Telemetry. He reveals:
“I started a hobby nursing website while I was in nursing school, way back in 1994, which has progressed its way into what allnurses.com is today.”
Under interests he says: “Spending time with my family, Social Networking, Computers, latest technology, iphone geek, traveling, scuba diving, underwater videography and photography, Fantasy Football, sports”
The 45-year-old went from being a nurse to a successful entrepreneur. According to a 2012 article, Brian taught himself to build Web pages to create a website; he cut back on his nursing hours and eventually focused on allnurses.com full time. The article also states Allnurses revenue is more than $1 million.
Brian and wife Karen were the parents of: 17-year-old son Cole, and daughters 15-year-old Madison and 14-year-old Brooklyn.
According to her Facebook page, Karen Short is a native of Shakopee, Minnesota, and lived in Greenwood. She was born Karen Preiss, she was 48-years-old. Through Brian’s social media, it is tough the family had recently been on a vacation trip to Cancun, Mexico.
The StarTribune reports one victim was found in a bedroom, a second in the basement garage, two others in the basement and the last in a lower-level bedroom.
All the couple’s three children are being mourned by friends expressing their condolences on social media. Their son Cole, had an interest in fishing judging by his Facebook photos. Madison Short was a student at Lakeville North High School, and Brooklyn’s friend have said how much she’ll be missed on Twitter, one tweet by Kenzie Miller read: “Rest in peace to Brooklyn Short and her family. You were such a beautiful, sweet girl and you will be missed by so many”
