Austin Wyatt Rollins has been identified as the latest high school shooter, which took place at a Maryland high school on Tuesday morning. The shooting left two students wounded.

#1 He wounded two fellow students

A 16-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy were wounded and taken to hospitals. The girl was in intensive care with life-threatening critical injuries, while the boy was in good condition.

#2 He may have had a relationship with the wounded female

According to a statement from county Sheriff Timothy Cameron –Austin Wyatt Rollins and the 16-year-old girl that resulted injured, were in a relationship a while ago. She has been named as 16-year-old Jaelynn Willey.

#3 Rollins used a semiautomatic handgun

Rollins pulled out a Glock semiautomatic handgun around 7:55 a.m. in a hallway and shot the students, the sheriff said. The attack, which lasted less than a minute.

#4 He was stopped by the school resource officer

The shooting ended after, Deputy 1st Class Sheriff Blaine Gaskill, ran inside the building and engaged with Rollins. They allegedly both fired a single round almost simultaneously. The officer was not harmed.

Rollins was confirmed deceased around 11:00 am; after being taken to a hospital. He was transported to Charles Regional Medical Center

Austin Wyatt Rollins is the son of Rocky Rollins –a Nebraska native who served in the Air Force. The family moved to Maryland from Tennessee in 2004.
