Anki Liden
Anki Liden is the devastated mother of Swedish DJ Avicii, real name Tim Bergling –who sadly passed away on Friday, April 20, aged 28.
Anki’s son began his career releasing music on Laidback Luke Forum in the late ’00s. He achieved major recognition with the release of the progressive house track “Levels,” which hit No. 1 in his native Sweden and on the U.S. Billboard Dance Club Songs chart — and earned him a Grammy nod.
The following year in 2012 David Guetta collab “Sunshine” earned him a Grammy nomination as well, and that same year, he became the first electronic artist to headline New York City’s storied Radio City Music Hall.
In 2013, Avicii released his debut studio album, True, which featured the massive international hit “Wake Me Up!”
His second album, Stories, dropped in 2015 and featured vocals from Chris Martin, Wyclef Jean, Robbie Williams, Matisyahu, Brandon Flowers, Gavin DeGraw and more. His most recent work was the EP Avīci (01) which came out in Aug. 2017 and featured his Rita Ora collaboration “Lonely Together.”
The young artist was also plagued by different health issues. He had his gallbladder and appendix removed a few years ago and retired from touring in 2014. He also suffered from pancreatitis due to excessive drinking.
Anki Liden like her son, is well known in their native country. Born April 5, 1947; the Swedish native is an actress who has appeared in numerous films. Anki Liden starred in the Oscar-nominated film My Life as a Dog. Some of her other film credits include Buddies (1976), Father to Be (1979) and To Be a Millionaire (1980).
She was in a relationship with Klas Bergling with whom she welcomed son Tim on September 8, 1989.
The gorgeous blonde is also the mother of another son, Anton Körberg –born from her relationship to Tommy Körberg –a well-known actor, singer and musician.
