Yung Mazi, is the musician within the rapping scene in Atlanta known for his claim of being ‘bulletproof”
The young rapper had been active in the industry for some time and released a number of demos, however his talent has been cut short after reports say he was shot and killed over the weekend.
The 28-year-old called himself ‘bulletproof” after surviving 13 gunshot wounds in previous incidents. He revealed to police he had been shot over a dozen times with the last being at a Waffle House last December.
Born Jibril A, he was brought up a Muslim according to the Daily Mail. He was tragically gunned on Sunday, while at a pizza shop. His assailant was caught on tape.
Described by multiple outlets as an up-and-coming rapper, Yung Mazi had recently been signed to Kevin Gates’ BWA record label.
During his lifetime he was the victim of multiple gun violence incidents. In December 2016, he was shot three times while at a Georgia Waffle House. He told police at the scene, he had previously been shot ten-times. After the incident he famously tweeted
God made me bulletproof.
Mazi who had his own website says on the site, he survived an old beef with a rival hustler. He was shot five times with one bullet hitting his head and leaving him temporarily brain damaged. He says he had to learn how to read, write and speak following the incident.
After deciding to pursue music full time in 2012, he released, Humbled By The Hustle, a project hosted by Rick Ross’s signee and famed DJ, Scream.He also made collaborations with friends such as Future, Rich Homie Quan, Kevin Gates, Young Scooter, etc.
The rapping community have expressed their grief with tributes from Young Thug and Zoey Dollaz. Yung Mazi is survived by several children. His baby mama has yet to be named.
