Jean Currivan Trebek
55-year-old Jean Currivan is the wife of a longtime Jeopardy host, Alex Trebek. Her husband initially joined Jeopardy in 1984.
Back in 2014, the 80-year-old TV host got so upset after an email suggesting he was leaving the shot got leaked; he threatened the producers with leaving, luckily for him, wife Jean has been Mrs. Trebek for a while now and we assume she had a lot with him cooling down.
When the couple met Jean was a real estate project manager, she grew up in Huntington, N.Y.
The two met at a party in 1988 and after a dinner invitation, sparks flew between them. They tied the knot in 1990 before 150 guests at L.A.’s Regency Club, where Trebek famously responded to his critical cue by saying, “The answer is… yes.”
He popped the question on Jean’s 26th birthday with a 16-carat sapphire ring, surrounded by six carats’ worth of diamonds. The couple has been married for 24-years and their 24-year age disparity hasn’t been a problem.

They have been happily married and are the proud parents of two. Jean became pregnant very quickly after the wedding, she gave birth to son Matthew in 1990 and daughter, Emily in 1993.
According to her Facebook, Jean attended Harborfields High School graduating in 1982, she and her family currently reside in California.
Back in 1990, Currivan told People that dating the host made her really nervous at first, “But Alex is really down to earth. He’s much more casual than he is on the show.”

On November 8, 2020, Jean said goodbye to her beloved husband, who died at the age of 80, from pancreatic cancer.
