Meet Erica Mann, she is the beloved and caring wife of Harold Ramis, the actor who played Egon Spengle in the Ghostbuster movies, who sadly passed away on February 24, 2014 at the age of 69.
Born in Chicago, Illinois to Ruth and Nathan Ramis, Harold graduated from Stephen K. Hayt Elementary School and Nicholas Senn High School in Chicago, from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1966.
The 2004 St. Louis Walk of Fame inductee and 2007 Austin Film Festival’s Distinguished Screenwriter Award recipient starred in two Ghostbuster films in 1984 and 1989 plus he was featured in the Ghostbusters video game released in 2009; many of you remember Ramis for this film,, but he was far more than just an actor, he directed several films like Caddyshack, National Lampoon’s Vacation, Groundhog Day, Multiplicity, The Office, Year One among others, he also worked as a producer and writing.
Some of his last acting jobs include Knocked Up with Seth Rogen, Orange County with Jack Black with whom he also appeared in Year One in 2009, and with John Cusack in High Fidelity.
Harold Ramis married twice, his first wife was Anne Plotkin the Frisco based artist, with whom he got married on n July 2, 1967 and with whom he had one child, his daughter Violet.
Ramis and Plotkin split up in 1984 and divorced not long after, he then got married to the person of interest in our story Erica Mann!!
59-year-old Erica Mann also known as a Erica Mann Ramis and Erica Ramis is an Independent Higher Education Professional who got married to the famous actor in 1989; Erica Ramis gave birth to her eldest son Julian Arthur on May 10, 1990, and to her younger son Daniel Hayes on August 10, 1994, The family moved to Chicago in 1996.
While in Chicago Erica worked at After School Matters and Muckety LLC. It was Erica who confirmed the sad o news of her husband’s passing, she said Harold was surrounded by family when he died at 12:53 a.m. from complications of autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, She added that he was first diagnosed in 2010, had to relearn to walk, he suffered a relapse of the vaculitis in late 2011.
