Meet John Felton
John Felton is the man originally from Dayton Ohio who now lives in Detroit Michigan, and who posted a video to his FB page after he was pulled over by an officer for “making eye contact.”
Reports say Mr. Felton was pulled over in mid-August by an officer from the Dayton Police Department. Felton who had a camera with him on his car, captured their conversation, the officer explained him he failed to signal 100 feet before a turn but John Felton said he did.
Felton then argued,
“I did signal. I did signal. You just needed a reason to pull me over.”
“Sir, you trailed me for how long? You just needed a reason to pull me over,”
“Like, no disrespect, I don’t have nothing against police officers, but all the s— that’s going on now, that’s some scary s—. To have a police officer just trailing you, and then you just pull me [inaudible] because you said I didn’t signal? What?”
After Felton insists he is not braking any laws, the officer replies
Because you made direct eye contact with me and held on to it,”
adding:
“I’m not going to argue about it anymore, sir. If you want to keep talking about it … I can give you a citation for the violation and we can take it to court. I’m not going to argue about it anymore. Have a safe day.”
The officer is yet to be identified but following the release of the video, a statement was issued by The city of Dayton saying, “A Dayton Police Officer pulled John Felton over on August 15 for not signaling within 100 feet of a turn. During the stop the Officer additionally acknowledged that Mr. Felton made sustained direct eye contact prior to being stopped.
