Sandy Cornyn: Texas Governor John Cornyn’s Wife

65-year-old Sandy Cornyn is not going anywhere! The folks from Texas have chosen her hubby over Democrat David Alameel to win his third term. Cornyn’s victory Tuesday comes as no surprise, he is the No. 2 Republican in the Senate.

According to one of her hubby’s many bios online, the couple met in 1977 on a blind date. Sandy is three-year older than her hubby, at the time she was 28 and Mr. Cornyn was 25.

Two year later after the fixed encounter, they were married. Sandy became Ms. Cornyn in 1979, she is also the mom of two adult daughters, Danley and Haley, pictured below.

The wife and mother of two, was born in San Antonio, TX.; and currently lives in Austin with her family. We assume she dedicate her time to being a full time mommy, while her hubby attended the University of Virginia School of Law in 1995, but now a days keeps pretty busy.

Sandy has been on her husband’s corner every step of the way; when they met he had earned his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law but while serving as a Justice on the Texas Supreme Court, Senator Cornyn continued his studies earning his Master of Laws degree from the University of Virginia in 1995.

In 1998, he became the first Republican elected Attorney General of Texas since Reconstruction and was sworn in by Governor George W. Bush. And then in 2002 when her husband was first elected to the U.S. Senate.

Following her roles as the wife of TX Senator, Sandy is the Treasurer of the Spouses of the Senate Club, a group that meets weekly while the Senate is in session.

Sandy is also a member of the Texas Federation of Republican Women and the Austin Republican Women’s Club. She is a member of Congressional Families Action for Cancer Awareness. Sandy is also active in International Club I, which consists of spouses of members of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the United States Government, as well as those of the Washington Press and Diplomatic Corps, and promotes goodwill and international understanding.
