Susie Cahn
Susie Cahn is the lovely wife of celebrity chef, TV personality, restaurateur and author, Mario Batali –best known for his Food Network show, Molto Mario.
Susie’s husband is widely known as one of Food Network’s original cooking stars, his show Molto Mario –where his career took off, aired from 1996 to 2004.
However the now disgraced chef has decided to step down following allegations of sexual misconduct by four women. Will his wife, Susie Cahn decide to support him? Meet her below.
Born Mario Francesco Batali on September 19, 1960; the famed chef is the son of Marilyn and Armandino Batali. Following his graduation from Rutgers University, the Washington native attended Le Cordon Bleu in London for a few short months before taking an apprenticeship with revered Chef Marco Pierre White in London at the Six Bells pub.
Before his 30th birthday, Batali was a sous chef at the Four Seasons Biltmore after previously working as a sous chef for the then Four Seasons Clift Hotel San Francisco. In 1993 he opened restaurant, Po in New York –the success of the restaurant translated into his Food Network show, Molto Mario.
Nowadyas Batali’s international hospitality group includes 10 restaurants in New York, four in Las Vegas, four in California, two in Connecticut and two in Singapore. The group also has two Italian markets in New York, one in Chicago and another in Boston.
Susi Cahn, is the daughter of Coach, Inc. founders Miles and Lillian Cahn. In addition to high-priced handbags, the Cahn family is also in the dairy farm business. Batali loyally used his wife’s Coach Farm products in all of his restaurants around the country.
Both of her parents are now deceased, Lillian Cahn died in 2013, and Miles Cahn died earlier this year, at the age of 95.
Thanks to their connection with the food world, the couple met and subsequently tied the knot in 1994.
Like her husband, Susi Cahn has become a well-known face in the media. She is heavily involved in his philanthropic efforts, including The Mario Batali Foundation. Every year, Susi Cahn and Batali organize the “Can Do Awards Gala” to raise funds.
Aside from their philanthropic efforts, the couple are the proud parents of two children. Susi Cahn is the mother of two sons, Leo and Benno. Her eldest son Benno has been attending the College of Literature, Science and the Arts at the University of Michigan. Both Benno and his younger brother are said to be following their father’s footsteps.
