The flight that went missing on Sunday morning from Surabaya, Indonesia to Singapore was carrying 155 passengers and 7 crew members on board.
Less than eight months after Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 vanished from over the South China Sea, we regret to hear 162 people have suffered the same destiny. This time, a flight from Air Asia lost contact with air traffic after requesting a “deviation” from the normal flight path due to weather conditions.
The crew is conformed by the captain, a first officer, an engineer and four flight attendants. They have been identified as Iriyanto (Captain), Remi Emmanuel Plesel (First Officer), Saiful Rakhmad (Engineer) and Wanti Setiawati, Khairunisa Haidar Fauzi, Oscar Desano and Wismoyo Ari Prambudi (Flight Attendants).

AirAsia disclosed the nationalities of passengers on board, saying there were 149 people from Indonesia, three from South Korea, one from Malaysia, one from Singapore, and one person from the United Kingdom.
Of the crew members, there were six people from Indonesia, and one person from France.
