Caryll L. Collins
Caryll L. Collins is the longtime wife of Jon Kyl –the Arizona Senator who will be stepping down at the end of the year.
Caryll’s husband presented his resignation announcing he plans to step down from the role on December 31.
Kyl had previously served as Arizona senator for 18 years and returned to the upper chamber following McCain’s death this past August
Jon Llewellyn Kyl was born April 25, 1942; the Nebraska native received both his bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Arizona.
Jon Kyl was admitted to the Arizona State Bar in 1966 and practiced law as a member of Jennings, Strouss and Salmon, in Phoenix.
From 1987 to 1995, Jon Kyl was in the U.S. House of Representatives and elected to the Senate in 1994, until his retirement.
Senator Kyl was elected unanimously by his colleagues in 2008 to serve as Republican Whip, the second-highest position in the Senate Republican leadership, a position he held until his retirement in 2013.
The couple has been married for over five decades. Caryll L. Collins and Jon Kyll tied the knot 54-years-ago in 1964. The longtime marriage welcomed two children together, daughter Kristine and son, John Kyl. Accoridng to his website, he and wife Caryll L. Collins –are also proud grandparents to four grandchildren.
Not much is known about Caryll L. Collins aka Caryll Kyl. Unlike her husband she doesn’t have much of a presence so is safe to say she’s been a silent supporter and most likely a dedicated mother –raising her children and supporting her husband’s career from home. She does however, appears in numerous pictures, next to her husband at important events.
The longtime couple spends a lot of their time volunteering for causes involved in helping children. In 2012, both were given a “Decades of Dedication Award” from Childhelp, honoring them for their support of children.
