46-year-old former Mexican beauty queen María Guadalupe Jones Garay better known as Lupita Jones, who is currently the director of “Nuestra Belleza México,” announced via Facebook that, Mexico will not have representation in the highly coveted Miss Universe pageant.
Her announcement comes as collateral damage of Donald Trump’s recent derogatory statements regarding immigrants. Mexican Network Televisa, Univision and NBC have also cut ties with Trump.
Jones is a big name in the pageant industry, she became the first contestant to win the title for her country in 1991.
Lupita has studies in business administration and in industrial administration. Upon giving up her crown in 1992 she founded Promocertamen and later created Nuestra Belleza Mexico. She has also done some acting.
As for her love life we can tell you that she was married to restaurateur Simon Charaf. The couple was married from 1993-2000 and have one son together, Simon Jr.
According to Spanish outlet TVNotas Lupita is currently dating Mexican businessman Marco Bautista Aragon (pictured above). In May, the couple was seen leaving an Argentine restaurant located south in the Distrito Federal.
A close friend of Lupita told the magazine, Marco met her a couple of years ago in a business meeting and they developed a friendship that evolved into a strong bond. The reports goes on to say that the former beauty queen finally gave him a chance earlier this year.
Not much is known about Marco, according to his Facebook page he is a graduated from Universidad De La Salle Bajío located in León, Guanajuato.
Marco is in the contraction business and judging by his photos he is also an avid polo player.
