Holly Knowlton is the wife of 41-years of retired Gen. David Petraeus. Her husband a former CIA director who retired as a four-star general in August 2011 has reached a plea deal with the Justice Department, concluding a years-long investigation against Petraeus for providing classified information to his former mistress, married mom Paula Broadwell.
She was born Hollister “Holly” Knowlton in 1953; the daughter of Army General William A. Knowlton. At the time her father was the West Point superintendent. She attended Dickinson College and graduated summa cum laude.
The couple met while Petraeus was still a cadet, and two months following his graduation, they wed.
The couple tied the knot in 1974. Holly gave birth to the couple’s two children: daughter Anne and son, Stephen.
You can’t help to feel for Holly, following her husband’s 2011-2012 affair; she’s had an impeccable reputation. Among her positions we can mention being the assistant Director for the Office of Service member Affairs at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), former director of the Better Business Bureau’s Military Line.
Coming from a military family herself and then forming one with her husband, gave Holly broad experience into what to expect, she has been recognized many time for her lifelong commitment to supporting military families.
