Duane Martin has been a close friend of actor Will Smith for a long time. Recently we heard that Will and Duane are not just buddies, but also lovers. Rumors about Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s troubled marriage are no news, albeit this is the first time we hear the reason of their alleged problems in paradise is regarding their sexual orientation. Or not?

Duane Martin is not only a close friend of Will Smith. He is also the husband of actress Tisha Campbell-Martin, known for her Martin Lawrence’s wife Gina Waters-Payne in the 90’s t.v series Martin. Tisha also was in one episode of Fresh Prince of Bel Air alongside Will Smith in 1991.

Duane and wife of two decades, Tisha got married on August 17, 1996. They have two adorables sons. Xen was born on August 8, 2001 and Ezekiel Czar Martin, born on September 8th, 2009 in Los Angeles.

Early on January Duane and his wife claimed they owned over $15,145,387, hence they filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, but luckily for him his good friend Will came to the rescue and paid his debt, saving his assets.

Their problems were far from over. They were accused of creating a shell company to hide income, diverting Tisha’s payment for her work on the ABC Show Dr. Ken which was over a $200,000.

Duane Martin was born August 11, 1970 in Brooklyn, New York; where he attended at New York University. Prior to acting, Martin was an athlete. He played in the NCAA Division III while he attended at NYU, he was even hired as an undrafted free agent by the Knicks in 1989, he never got to play as a Knick, he was cut off the team and he forgo about basketball.

Duane became interested in acting, he got his first gig in the NBC comedy series Out All Night alongside Vivica A. Fox and Patti LaBelle, like his wife, Duane too starred in one episode of Fresh Prince Of Bel Air and in 1992 made his big screen debut as Willie Lewis in White Men Can’t Jump.

In 1998, Duane is reunited with Vivica A. Fox for the sitcom Getting personal. In 2003, he starred as Robert James in All of Us, the t.v series based on Will and Jada’s blended family. Martin’s other acting credits include What Boys Like (2003), Any Given Sunday (1999), “Scream 2”, “Down Periscope”, ” The Paul Reiser Show”, “White Men Can’t Jump”, “Woo”, “The Seat Filler”, Deliver Us From Eva”, “The Faculty”, and “Above the Rim”.
