48-year-old Karen Elaine Harrelson and 57-year-old Gregory L. Stambaugh stabbed each other after arguing over who should win American Idol on May 15, according to police. The couple, from Pennsylvania, couldn’t agree over which contestant, Candice Glover or Kree Harrison, should win this year’s American Idol finale.
The debate turned violent. One of them then allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the other. The victim then reportedly grabbed the knife and stabbed back.
York County police officers arrived at the West Manchester Township home and found the couple on the front porch with blood all over their clothing and still fighting. The couple were arrested after the drunken fight.
Both alleged that the other went into the kitchen during the argument, grabbed a knife, and began the stabbing. But until now, the two can’t agree on who stabbed whom first, according to The York Dispatch.
Harrelson and Stambaugh were treated at a local hospital for minor injuries. They are now being held in York County Prison where they were charged with one count of felony aggravated assault and two counts of simple assault. Stambaugh’s bail was set at $70,000. Harrelson’s was set at $30,000.
