Sarah Tither-Kaplan
Sarah Tither-Kaplan is one of at least five women in coming forward accusing actor James Franco of sexually exploitative or inappropriate behavior.
Following his Golden Globe win, Sarah and others took to twitter to tell their stories about Franco’s alleged inappropriate behavior. According to an article in the Los Angeles Times, she said she once saw Franco remove protective plastic guards covering other actresses’ vaginas while simulating oral sex for a scene. She also told the Times that the actor created an atmosphere where it felt like saying no to him wasn’t an option.
According to her website, Sarah is a native of Arkansas and was raised in Los Angeles. Sarah describes herself an Writer/Actor/Director/Producer.
She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Music Industry from University of Southern California in June of 2013.
She has appeared in a AAA commercial and a number of short films, and her IMDB page lists projects in the works for 2018. She lists on her resume having worked with Franco. In October of 2014, she was one of 20 actors selected to participate in James Franco’s first ever Master Acting Class at Studio 4.
It was during this time that Sarah allegedly made a topless video for Franco’s class at Studio 4 and it was uploaded without her prior knowledge or consent.
The website also says she appeared a few times in the series Making a Scene With James Franco, where famous scenes from film and TV were mashed-up and re-imagined.
She had a big year in 2017, after her screenplay for Flyover State was a 2017 Script Pipeline Quarterfinalist, Scriptapalooza Quarterfinalist, and Austin Film Festival Second Rounder. Plus, her original short film “Me, Problems” premiered at LA Shorts Fest in 2017.
She also wrote a short film with Nana Ghana, titled, Electing –which will be submitted to festivals in 2018. In addition, Sarah Tither-Kaplan performs improv comedy regularly at UCB and at comedy venues in Los Angeles.
