Tyler Jarrell
Tyler Jarrell died tragically earlier this weeks just days after the teen enlisted in the Marines. The Columbus, OH; native died during a fatal crash at the Ohio State Fair.
What was supposed to be a fun time with friends turned into a tragedy for Tyler –who was killed in a horrific way after the ride he was on, suffered a malfunction and snapped.
On Wednesday night Tyler and others got on the ride known as The Fireball, a few moments later, at about 7:20 tragedy struck when the ride sent a gondola filled with passengers into the air. Footage fo the incident shows the passengers being ejected into high speed. As a result Tyler was killed and seven others were injured.
18-year-old Tyler Jarrell was a student at Franklin Heights High School. Accoridng to the South-Western City School District, he would have entered his senior year next fall.
Tyler was involved in the school’s NJROTC program, as well as the South-Western Career Academy, where he studied cyber security. The young man was a part of the Columbus Police Explorers.
Accoridng to reports, Jarrell had a brilliant future; he was set to become a marine after having enlisted just five days prior to his sudden and tragic death.
Accoridng to a statement from the Marines, Tyler Jarrell was set to begin basic training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot on Parris Island, South Carolina, next June.
Aside from being a dedicated student Brandon also worked at a McDonald’s in Grove City, Ohio.
Officials named six of the injured as Tamika Dunlap, 36, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; Russell Franks, 42, of Columbus, Ohio; Keziah Lewis, 19, of Columbus, Ohio; Jacob Andrews, 22, of Pataskala, Ohio; Jennifer Lambert, 18, of Columbus, Ohio; Abdihakim Hussein, 19, of Columbus, Ohio; and a 14-year-old male whose name is still not known.
Accoridng to the Daily Mail, Tyler was dating Keziah Lewis –who was also in the ride with him and was one of the people injured.
