Wendi Deng Murdoch- Rupert Murdoch’s Wife

Savvy Chinese Business woman Wendi Deng is soon to be ex-Murdoch! That is correct, the 84-year-old global media tycoon filed for divorce from his wife for nearly 14 years Wendi. Not to point the obvious but how miserable can you feel in your marriage to filed for divorce at his age! Although the reasons for his ultimate decision are not clear truth is he is no stranger to the process since Wendi became his third wife and now third ex-wife.

But let’s focus on her, she is definitely a bright, decided strong woman; Wendi was born Deng Wenge December 8, 1968 in Jinan, Shandong, People’s Republic of China. Her engineer parents had four children, three girls and one boy, Wendi being the third. She was into sports focusing on volleyball as her major interest, she attended Xuzhou First Secondary School and Xuzhou No. 1 Middle School.

Thanks to an American couple who sponsored her visa she traveled to the U.S and enrolled in California State University leaving her medical studies behind. American Jake Cherry who was married and 30 years her senior was her first husband. Cherry left his wife and moved in with Wendi but their marriage only lasted three years, they were married from 1990 till 1993.

She is fluent in Mandarin and English and holds an MBA from Yale University’s School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from California State University at Northridge in Los Angeles. Working hard for Wendi soon paid off, after her graduating she landed an internship at News Corp subsidiary Star TV in Hong Kong and she moved quickly positioning herself as a full time junior exec; there is nod doubt she became a key player and lead the way in forming business links with China for high-speed video and internet access.

Wendi 44, is currently the  co-CEO of Big Feet Productions, a film production company launched in 2008. Ms. Murdoch produced the feature film Snow Flower and the Secret Fan becoming a blockbuster producer and friend of stars like Nicole Kidman. She is also a co-founder and investor in Art.sy, a digital start-up focusing on the fine art market.

Wendi met Rupert who is 38 years her senior at a company part in Hong Kong and they tied the knot in 1999, surprisingly less than a month after Rupert’s divorce from his former wife Anna Maria was finalized. Well you know how eccentric rich people can be but still how in love could they have been?? The couple who lives in Manhattan have two daughters, Grace Helen Murdoch and Chloe Murdoch.

So any guesses for they break up?? Wonder how much money she will get??
