In case you haven’t heard, a popular host was fired from the Latin TV network Univision after he said Michelle Obama looked like an ape! Rodner, an Emmy Award Winner fashion specialist known for his segments in “El Gordo y la Flaca” has gotten himself a lawyer and reveals the real reason of his termination.
Earlier this month Figueroa, appeared in a segment in which a makeup artist came on and showed images of himself transformed into female celebs, including Michelle Obama. Rodner said the Michelle photo looked like someone from the cast of “Planet of the Apes.”
Initially it was reported Univision received a complaint from the White House that resulted on him getting fired. Now Figueroa and his lawyer Marty Singer say not only that the complaint is complete bogus but that he was illegally fired and the reason is because of his support for unionization of Latino talent!
Rodner has received much support from fellow TV hosts and other celebs, he is very popular among the Latin community. Rodner who has over 400K followers on Instagram also cleared the air saying his remarks were directed to the makeup artist and not to the U.S first lady.
He is very active on social media and often posts photos of himself with celebs on the red carpet or with friends, one in special stood out, his long time Salvadoran friend Ernesto Mathies; with whom he went on trip last year and have tons of pics together.
We are not entirely sure about their relationship status but we are glad Rodner has a good friend to lean on. You can find Ernesto on Instagram here. Do you think Rodner was unfairly fired?
