Misti Raman and Jim Raman: Married Dentists/ Amazing Race Contestants

Meet married dentists couple, gorgeous Dr. Misti Sturkie Raman and her husband Dr. Jim Raman. The power duo with the big smiles signed up for the Amazing Race season 25!

The couple has been married for the past 15-years and, the physical fitness and competitive nature required for the  international race competition was no problem for the marriage. Years of Jim’s bodybuilding and Misti’s pageantry and fitness competitions made them perfect for the show! They were sparked to compete by friends who encourage them to go!

The couple has been getting lots of attention  after they came in first in Friday’s inaugural episode. Many ask what is their key to success? During an interview the couple said they developed a strategy by watching more than 100 episodes of “The Amazing Race.”

Let’s take a close look to the accomplished couple!

Orthodontist Dr. Jim Raman received a BS from the University of South Carolina before going on to dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina’s College of Dental Medicine where he received his DMD.

He is the owner-operator at Raman Orthodontics according to his FB page. He is a NY native, having listed as a hometown Massapequa Park, New York. He moved to Charleston, SC; in 2000 and currently resides in Irmo, Couth Carolina.

Jim and his very good looking wife tied the knot May 21, 2005; they are the proud parents of two children. Jim has received extensive training in conventional orthodontics as well as Invisalign, the use of mini-implants (TAD’s), surgical orthodontics, Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics (Wilckodontics) and the treatment of TMD & orofacial pain, his website reads.

Now lets move to his lovely wife.

Dr. Misti Sturkie Raman was born and raised in the greater Columbia area.

The blonde cosmetic dentist attends her clients at Irmo Smiles in Columbia, SC. The lovely Dr. is the mom of daughter Lexi and son Jimmy.

She was crowned the new Mrs. Galaxy 2013 in Orlando, Florida.

Her website reads, after graduating from Brookland-Cayce High School, Misti went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina. Dr. Raman earned her dental degree from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in 2005. She has since undergone extensive postgraduate education, specifically selecting courses focusing on occlusion and cosmetic dentistry.

The working mom of two, beauty pageant and model can now add to her list TV personality. It is hard to believe she gave birth to two children but the regime of years in fitness competitions must do the trick. Her slim and petit frame will certainly be an asset during the race.
