Linda Doucett is tex-girlfriend of the amazing comedian Garry Shandling, who died at 66 of a heart attack. Shandling never married, but he was close to saying I Do in the 90’s when he became engaged to a former model Linda Doucett.

Linda Doucett’s ex-boyfriend Garry Emmanuel Shandling was born November 29, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois. He was one of two children born to Irving Shandling and Muriel Shandling who were also the proud parents of Garry’s brother Barry who died of cystic fibrosis in 1960.

Shandling attended Palo Verde High School and was a creative writing grad student with a major in electrical engineer and a degree in marketing from the University of Arizona. his first job was in stand-up comedy, making his writing job was at Sanford and Son in 1975, he was also in Welcome Back, Kotter in 1976, The Harvey Korman Show in 1978, Doctor Duck’s Super Secret All-purpose Sauce and the Garry Shandling: Alone in Vegas in 1986. He wrote The Garry Shandling Show: 25th Anniversary Special and Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist in 1996. The Larry Sanders Show, his second gig aired on HBO in 1992. His final work was in What Planet Are you from? In 2000 and The Brain Storm in 2010, Garry Shandling starred in Iron Man 2 as Senator Stern in 2010 the role he reprised in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. We also saw him in Dr. Doolittle, Zoolander, the Dictator and was the voice of Verne in Over The Hedge in 2006.

Garry Shandling’s most notorious relationship was with former Playboy model Linda Doucett, who played Hank Kingsley’s Darlene in The Larry Sanders Show, Doucett and Garry started dating in 1987, things turned pretty crazy when they broke up in 1994, and he had her dismissed from Show.

Linda Doucett was not going to stand there with her arms crossed and filed two lawsuits against Brillstein-Grey Entertainment, Garry Shandling and Grey’s production company, as well as Garry and Brad Grey t for sexual harassment and wrongful termination. The case was settled out of court in 1997 for $1 million, Linda and Garry eventually became friends again.

Linda appeared in the Scenes from the Class Struggle in Beverly Hills, Hearman’s Head in 1991, Tales From The Crypt (In the Groove) in 1994, Badge of Betrayal in 1997, The Larry Sanders Show as Darlene Chapinni until 1998 and the Street as a bartender in 2000.
