Michelle Bolsonaro is the lovely wife of Brazil’s president, Jair Bolsonaro –making her the first lady of the South American country.

Michelle’s husband was named the country’s president this January. The 63-year-old politician has served as a congressman for Rio de Janeiro in Brazil’s lower house Chamber of Deputies since 1991. He is also the leader of the PSL (Partido Social Liberal, a nationalist and conservative party) since 2018.

Jair Bolsonaro was born in the state of Sao Paolo in 1955. He has Italian ancestry from both his parents.

Jair served in the artillery and parachute corps after attending military academy. He cut short his military career to enter politics. He was elected to Parliament in 1991 as a member of the Partido Democrata Cristão, and remained there for seven consecutive legislatures, running with different right-wing parties.

In 2014 he was elected to Congress with 464,000 votes, four times as many as he won in 2010. After this, he started to organize rallies up and down the country, presenting himself as an alternative to the old political system. Bolsonaro is widely known for his fight against communism and LGBT rights.

The president is currently married to the former Michelle Reinaldo, with whom he shares one child.

He’s been married twice before, first to Rogéria Bolsonaro –who is the mother of his three sons Flavio, Carlos and Eduardo.  The tree of them work in politics.

Jair then married a second time to, Ana Cristina Siqueira Valle. During their time together they welcomed a son called, Renan.

Michelle de Paula Firmo Reinaldo was born March 22, 1980. She graduated high school and enrolled in college but did not attend classes.

She met her future husband while she was working as a clerk in the Chamber. At the time, she made headlines for receiving unusual promotions and Jair was forced to fire her as his secretary.

The two tied the knot in 2007, thus becoming his third wife. Michelle gave birth to a daughter, whom the couple named Laura in 2010. She is also the mother of another child, teen daughter Letícia Aguiar, from a previous relationship.
