Martha Jenkins

Martha Jenkins is the longtime wife of Alabama Congressman, Morris Jackson Brooks Jr.; best known as Mo Brooks.



Martha’s republican husband represents Alabama’s 5th Congressional District and serves on three committees:  Armed Services, Science, Space, and Technology, and Foreign Affairs. He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2010 and was re-elected in 2016.

Brooks born April 29, 1954; graduated from Duke University with a double major in political science and economics; and subsequently graduated from the University of Alabama Law School. Prior to being elected to the Alabama House of Representatives and becoming one of 11 Republican legislators in 1982 –he worked as a prosecutor in the Tuscaloosa District Attorney’s office.

Brooks was reelected to the Alabama House in 1983, 1986, and 1990. The following year he was appointed Madison County District Attorney. Five years later he ran for the Madison County Commission. From 1996-2002, he was appointed Special Assistant Attorney General for then Attorney General Bill Pryor.

He and wife, Martha Jenkins have been married since 1976. The couple met while attending Duke University. Martha a Toledo, Ohio native, earned her accounting degree from the University of Alabama. She later obtained a math and education major from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Martha a former certified public accountant –is currently retired. She also worked teaching math at Whitesburg Middle School. Jenkins has also remained supportive of her husband’s career in politics, she is often by his side during special events.

Jenkins is also the proud mother of the couple’s four adult children. Martha Jenkins gave birth to two sons and two daughters, Jay, Thomas, Rachel and Chelsie.

She and her husband are also proud grandparents to at least ten grandchildren, according to Brooks’ website. Daughter Rachel Brooks is married to Walter Olsen, together they have five children.

Son, Thomas Brooks studied MS Aerospace Systems Engineering at UAHuntsville –he is also married and is the father of two kids.
