Calvin Peters: Stabbed Jew Levi Rosenblat inside Synagogue

49-year-old Calvin Peters has been identified as the man who was killed inside a Synagogue early Tuesday morning after he attacked another man with a knife.

According to reports form the NY Post, the terrifying event took place at one of Brooklyn’s most prominent Jewish places of worship, Chabad-Lubavitch (khah-BAHD’ loo-BAW’-vich).

Peters who, –according  to witnesses –first  asked for a bible, proceeded  to stab Israeli student Levi Rosenblat in the head.

Calvin was subsequently shot and killed by police officers after he refused to put down his weapon.

Police describe him as “emotionally disturbed”and had also documented history of mental illness.

According to police records, Calvin had been arrested close to 20 times since the early 80’s. He was arrested in 2006 for drugs. According to online reports he has lived in Brooklyn, NY; Valley Stream, NY; East Elmhurst, NY; and New York, NY.

It is unclear why Peters was inside the Synagogue, police is still investigating but they do not think terrorism is related.

As for Levi, he is in stable condition, he remain conscious the whole time.
