Khalid Masood is the man believed to have carried out the terror attack in Westminster on the day of the one-year anniversary of the deadly ISIS  Brussels airport attack.



Khalid who was in his early 50’s had a number of previous convictions, however, reports say he was not the subject of any current police investigations.

Masood allegedly drove into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before crashing his car into railings and then running into the grounds of Parliament, armed with a knife. On his way he stabbed and killed, PC Keith Palmer –an unarmed member of the parliamentary.

Khalid Masood was killed by London police, not before he killed four people and wounded at least 40 others.

The Metropolitan Police said there had been no prior intelligence about Masood’s intention to carry out an attack.

However he was known to the police and his previous convictions included causing grievous bodily harm, possession of offensive weapons and public order offences.

His first conviction dates from November 1983 for criminal damage. The most recent time he had an encounter with law enforcement was in December 2003 for possession of a knife.

He had not been convicted of any terrorism offences.

Accoridng to reports, the vehicle Khalid Masood used in the attack had been rented from Car hire company Enterprise in its Spring Hill depot in Birmingham.

The BBC reports Masood had hired the Hyundai SUV in person, stating his profession as a teacher.

Khalid Masood was born in Kent on Christmas Day 1964.

The 52-year-old was believed to have been living in the West Midlands. He was identified on social media as a ‘soldier’ of the Islamic State –which have since claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to neighbors he was ‘very calm’ and belonged to a very ‘reserved family.’

According to the Sun, Khalid Masood, a former English teacher, was obsessed with body building. He is survived by three children and a wife.
