Albert Wong, a former veteran killed at least three people at The Pathway Home –the nation’s largest veteran’s home in northern California.

According to reports Wong –who was a former patient at the huge facility took three females hostage and shot them at some point while also taking his own life.

The former 36-year-old made his way while workers were having a party taking Christine Loeber, Jennifer Golick and Jennifer Gonzales with him and letting everyone else go. All three women worked at The Pathway Home.

It took several hours for police to get to Albert Wong and stop the standoff but when they entered the facility, they found the gunman and the women deceased. It’s unclear if they were picked randomly or if he had a clear motive.

48-year-old Christine Loeber –has been named as the program executive director. She received her graduate degree in social work from Boston College in 2008, according to her LinkedIn page. She had been working at VA clinics in San Francisco and Menlo Park when she was hired by Pathway.

Loeber wanted the facility to cater for women as well. She has been lauded by numerous coleagues who have called her a ‘hero’ and was known for her excellent work ethic and passion for helping the veterans.

Jennifer Golick a 42-year-old wife and mother, was the clinical director of the program. Moments before she was gunned down she called her husband, Mark Golick to tell him she had been taken hostage, the NY Daily News reports.

It is said believed two weeks ago, Jennifer Gray Golick ordered Wong to be removed from the program. It is not known why she made such decision. Prior to The Pathway Home, Golick worked at Mui Wood Adolescent and Family Services. She studied counseling psychology at Sonoma State University.

Dr. Jennifer Gonzales – was a 29-year-old clinical psychologist with the San Francisco Department of Veterans’ Affairs Healthcare System.

According to a profile, Gonzales received her Doctor of Psychology degree from the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium at Palo Alto University in 2003. Following her graduation Dr. Gonzales went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship at the Santa Rosa CBOC for the SFVAMC. She also worked with student veterans as the Clinical Coordinator for the VITAL program at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System.
