Ian Cuttler Sala- Grammy Award Photog Passenger in crash with Salma Hayek’s Brother

Meet the 43-year-old man who tragically lost his life while riding in $165,000 sports car with actress Salma Hayek’s brother. Furniture designer, Sami-Hayek was driving eastbound on Sunset Boulevard in Holmby Hills when he lost control of his 2006 Ford GT shortly before 5 p.m. and veered into the path of an oncoming Toyota Tacoma truck traveling westbound, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Sala who is of Latin origin, lived in New York and his outstanding job as a photographer got him a Grammy Award in 2006. Let’s keep reading about him.

Also described as a Art Director, according to Sala’s website, he worked at Sony Music NY for nine years before becoming a photographer.

At Sony he created visual campaigns for musicians like Beyonce, Billy Joel and Mariah Carey.

As a photographer he has shot advertisements for Converse, Gillette and Lincoln Center as well as editorials for several magazines.

He earned his Grammy Award designing the packaging for ‘Johnny Cash: The Legend’ box set.

The Mexican native is mostly found under Ian Cuttler, he has resided in NY since 1996. His website says, after dedicating himself to photography full time, Cuttler had been shooting for clients such as Converse, P&G, Sony BMG, 7UP, Gillette, Axe, Christie’s NY, Lincoln Center, 1961 Denim and Pfizer as well creating editorial material for GQ Germany, GQ Mexico, Stern, Max Magazine, Maxim and H Magazine, among others.

The skillful Cuttler was recognized with several awards, including: Grammy Award for best art direction “Johnny Cash : The Legend” box set music package. Grammy nomination for best art direction “Louis Armstrong: The complete Hot Five and Hot Seven recordings.” Winner of the Best Design Show” and numerous awards and recognitions from HOW, Print, The Color Awards, AIGA among others.

His instagram, is filled with many snaps that he delicately captured.

There are no further details found on his private life so far or even what was the link between him and Hayek. Maybe they were working on a project together? Maybe old childhood friends? What do you think?

The NYDaily News reports his parents flew to Los Angeles from Mexico after receiving word of the fatal accident.
